  Personality:
Kind to everybody he meets, with a grace that's often only seen in royalty, Surya greets life with warm amiability and welcomes anybody from all walks of life with open arms. He is attentive, always keen to listen to others speak and to get to know them better, regardless if their views differ from his own or not. His optimism is boundless; he remains   vigil   and will not lose to despair.
Whether one has known him for minutes or years, however, it would be easy to write off this saint-like kindness as   disingenuous.   He rarely talks about himself and will often give conflicting information about his age, his backstory, stating that it isn't important for his task at hand. One could assume many things: that he fears getting hurt, that he simply does not care, or maybe he truly is that forgetful. It's easy to be, when one claims such a storied life.Perhaps it is a mask or a façade, but his heart does not bow to another's whims easily. The person Surya has become is exactly who he has chosen to be, and he is, as he always has been, an excellent   performer.

Regarding SuryaAs the third son, there were much fewer expectations placed upon Surya's head. While his older brothers followed their grandfather's footsteps and pledged fealty as members of the Radiant Dawn in service of the Satrap, Surya had always been enamored with the idea of glitz and glamour, mimicking the steps of street dancers from the time he learned to walk.Surya, thankfully, had been blessed since birth with his mother's beautiful looks, and he began to take on women's costume during his training and practice to learn the way of the dancer. While many dance upon the streets to liven the halls of the city, there are a number of troupes that focus upon storytelling, using song, dance, and costume to retell tales of heroism across the land. At first, Surya took to the streets, where he caught the eye of the leader of one of these troupes.Surya enjoyed his years of service to the Kamakasa dance troupe, and Thavnair enjoyed its peace and neutrality. As the years pressed on, however, strife began to wear heavy upon the people. War across Eorzea and Othard took its toll upon the merchants sworn to neutrality, and it was Surya's idea to venture to the embassies and perform to lighten their spirits and break the ice. This practice persisted as the Final Days came heavy upon the people of Hydaelyn, and even as old members left and were replaced with new ones, Surya remained at the front to dance, to tell stories, and to ignite the first spark of hope in the hearts of the people. The worst has now come to pass and many members of the troupe have fractured off, traveling in smaller groups to continue their work.To this day, Surya continues to travel alone, dancing in whatever taverns will have him.

hooks

song of hope
You might have heard of or seen Kamakasa, be it as an audience member, hearing about their shows, or with direct involvement with circumventing the Final Days.
virtuosos
Surya loves to collaborate with other musicians and artists! Help each other design sets and costumes, put on a show together, or just talk about music for the sake of it - he'll love every moment of it.
new beginnings
It's easiest to find Surya performing in taverns all over Thanalan, though he tends to stick around Ul'dah and the less affluent districts and settlements.
a shining star
No matter where he goes, Surya is certain to stand out. If he catches you looking for too long, he'll invite you to come over and chat with him - better to make the image last longer.
thavnair's heart
If your character is from Thavnair, interested in traveling or studying, Surya loves to talk about his homeland. (Especially about culture and dance!)
anything else?
If there's something else that works better to suit your character, please let me know! I'm open to suggestions and love incorporating different backgrounds and lore.
